Driving range opens

The Royal Port Moresby Golf Club celebrated the Queen’s Birthday on Monday by officially opening their new driving range practice facility. Managing Director of Total Philippe Cabus was in attendance and was happy to see that nets to keep balls in and some new target greens had recently been introduced to the facility. Total supported the initiative by building the new shaded canopy for the Club last year. Club President Bruce Mackinlay thanked Total and Committee Member Ian Hodge for his contribution in bringing the new facility to life, and went on to say “It’s never been easier to practice your swing in a comfortable shaded setting. Balls can now be purchased at the Pro Shop, and you no longer need to worry about picking them up afterwards. Hopefully this new facility will enable more Papua New Guineans to fine tune their skills, turn professional and represent PNG on the world stage”. Bruce also thanked the Prime Minister for his attendance and for showing the crowd how to flush a 7 iron right at the pin.
